When great trees fall in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses eroded beyond fear.

Nina Killham has lived many places in the world, but nothing has moved her like the forests of Victoria--their quiet endurance, intricate networks of communication, and silent witnessing of time. Through her photography, she seeks to give voice to their emotions; yes, to their suffering and fear, but mostly to their resilient joy.
Killham is a member of the MAVA Collective (Melbourne and Victorian Artists) and was the recipient of a City of Melbourne Arts Grant in 2024 to complete her children’s book about urban trees, I See You, Can You See Me? Her website, Treegazing.com, documents both her artistic journey and the ongoing community efforts to preserve the forests of Australia.
Her art has appeared in several Melbourne art galleries, including The Centre for Contempory Photography, Counihan Gallery, Sol Gallery, Burringa Cultural Centre, Off the Kerb Gallery and West End Art Space. She received a Sustainability Art Prize from the MAVA Collective.
